KinderPrep
The
Reading Learning Center has a new program called KinderPrep
for four to six year olds who are in pre-kindergarten and
kindergarten.
The program teaches fundamental skills, including print
concepts, phonological awareness, phonics, sight words, and
emergent reader fluency. Math skills include counting,
numerals and the quantities they represent, basic addition,
and geometric shapes. All activities are exciting, fun and
developmentally appropriate.
Pennsylvania has aligned its standards with the Common Core
State Standards for all subject areas, which include
pre-reading, reading and math skills at the kindergarten
level. It is so important for young children to develop the
building blocks essential for success in reading and math.
Academic
skills that were once taught in first grade are now expected
of kindergarten children. KinderPrep makes learning
these skills fun. |
